Intermittent Fasting Wed March 12

Its just about 3pm on Wed March 12...I'm coming to the end of a 30-ish hour fast, not really hungry at all right now...going to the gym in a few mins for a weight training workout, then I get to eat!

I'll knock out another 24 hour fast later this week, probably between friday and saturday sometime


I'll check back in with a progress report.

Intermittent Fasting Tues March 11

I just got back from my second workout for the day...did my Adonis Effect Growth workout at 4pm...then went back to the gym to do some extra cardio and watch the game at 8pm.

Today's fast is a bit different than my regular Tuesday fast...

I normally start my Tuesday fast after a late dinner around 10pm, and resume eating around 10pm on Wednesday. This time I started my Tuesday fast at 1pm and I'll get back to eating around dinner time on wed after a 4pm workout...that makes this one around a 30 hour fast.

The past two Tuesday I've done a 48 hour and a 42 hour fast...I am finding that after about the 30-35 hour point I'm just coasting and I don't feel like eating at all! Workouts are fine during these longer fasts as well.

I'll report back in tomorrow with an update of the end of the fast and how I feel during my "Break-Fast" tomorrow evening!

Intermittent Fasting Timing

I do 2 fasts per week, I don't have a set schedule instead I just pick two days that work for me and take a 24 hour period off of eating. During my fast I end up drinking water, diet soda's and coffee (with sweetener).

The specific intermittent fasting program I follow allows me to pick whichever days I want to fast on. It's flexible and fits around my daily/weekly routine.

I know that Saturday evenings are usually a social event and food will be involved, so I never fast on Saturday evening...that just wouldn't be any fun at all. Instead I pick a Monday to Tuesday fast, and a Friday morning to Saturday morning fast.

This works pretty good for me, I still eat all the food I like and I haven't gained a pound in 15 months (I've actually lost about 20lbs!)

Intermittent Fasting

It seems like Intermittent Fasting is gaining some momentum in the blogosphere and on the Internet media waves.

I've been browsing some lively discussions about it. I have personally been following a modified form of Intermittent fasting called EAT STOP EAT for about 15 months now with great results. I've lost about 20 lbs and kept it off. I workout regularly and it hasn't affected my strength or muscle mass at all.

The best part is that it is easy to incorporate into my lifestyle. On my eat days I have whatever I want, whenever I want.

If you are interested in Intermittent fasting I recommend reading Eat Stop Eat. It summarizes all the most recent research on intermittent fasting and puts it in terms anyone can understand.

I did my graduate work in nutrition and had the privilege of editing this book so I am very familiar with the research and how useful this book really is for translating it into terms anyone can understand.

Short term Fast starting Oct 4

Starting a 24 hour fast today at 4 pm. Will resume eating tomorrow at approx 5pm.
I have been following this eating pattern of short term fasting for approximately 10 months now. It's very effective and pretty easy to follow.

Heading to the gym now for a strength training workout.

I will be updating how each fast goes here as an online journal to keep you informed.
